The Hunts Point Economic Development Corporation Hosts the Party of the Season; All Hunts Point Businesses and Community Members Invited to the 15th Annual Tent Party HPEDC Celebrates 15 Years of Service to the Community; Annual Tent Party to Commemorate Anniversary

BRONX, New York, October 9, 2003 – The Hunts Point Economic Development Corporation’s (HPEDC) 15th annual Tent Party, a rite of fall that members of the Hunts Point and Bronx community anticipate each year, will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2003 at the Hunts Point Cooperative Market, 355 Food Center Drive in the Bronx from 2-5 p.m. HPEDC has had an extraordinary 15 years and is commemorating the partnerships that have helped make Hunts Point a great place to live and work. Both a fundraiser for the Hunts Point Economic Development Corporation and a celebration of everything that the community has accomplished, the annual Tent Party outdoes itself every year. Set to feature a scrumptious menu, fantastic music, and delightful décor, the Tent Party will be an autumn bash for Hunts Point.

With the help of the advocacy and support that the HPEDC has provided, Hunts Point has become a major economic region for the Bronx and for all of New York City, supplying food from 60 countries to all parts of the United States. Hunts Point is a destination point for major food industries across the U.S, and will no doubt continue to grow. The welcome addition of the Fulton Fish Market to the Hunts Point area in 2005, with construction already well underway, will eventually employ over 600 people and provide economic stimulation to Hunts Point. HPEDC hopes to honor this area and celebrate its own successes at the 15th Annual Tent Party.
